Intramurals at TRAC

We’d like to welcome you to the Recreational Sports Intramurals program. Intramurals is a fun way to participate in organized competition and contributes to your health and wellness. We schedule single day events, contests, leagues, and tournaments. The intramural environment is a fun and great way to meet new people, create friendships, and experience diversity.

When participating in intramurals there are a few rules to remember. Number one; always have your i-card handy ready to show the IM supervisor. Number two, when coming to TRAC you must have a separate pair of clean shoes. Finally, number three; make sure all jewelry is removed before participating in any intramural activity.

If you are interested in putting a team together for an intramural sport you need to pick up a roster card from the Rec Sports Office. Return the completed roster card back to the office on the specified Tuesday entry day then attend the mandatory captains’ meeting on that Thursday. Penalties will be assessed to teams failing to attend. If you cannot get a team together you can always apply as a free agent on our website.

Right now roster cards are available in TRAC for bocce singles and 4 on 4 sand volleyball, which are due this Tuesday, September 7 by 5 p.m. Also available right now are roster cards for racquetball singles, 7 on 7 Ultimate disc, and 9 on 9 softball. Other individual events offered this fall semester include disc golf, pickleball, croquet and badminton. Team entries include powder puff flag football, flag football, soccer, volleyball, euchre, and preseason basketball. For specific information about each event, check out the Intramurals webpage. We hope to see everyone participate!

There are many opportunities for employment in intramurals. We are always looking for fun, energetic, and dedicated sports officials. To be considered, please obtain an application from the Recreational Sports Office or simply print one from our website. Completed applications must be turned in at the Rec Sports Office only. Students must also apply on the UIS Career Connect website.

The IM program at UIS offers different divisions and leagues of play to give you the right combination of a playing environment that is both fun and challenging. Depending on your background in a particular sport, you may find an interest in either the competitive or recreational league within the men’s, women’s, or co-rec division that will accommodate your skill level.

Champions from each league in each division are awarded intramural championship t-shirts. This year’s champions will also be honored in our Hall of Champions with a picture on the Recreational Sports bulletin board in TRAC and recognition on our website. Intramurals is all about people participating through play and enjoying themselves.

Become involved in the IM Experience!
